There is a well-known rumor about Paul being killed in a car crash and being replaced by a look-alike in 1966. The novel is the compelling story carved from the biographies about the Beatles through well-honed and coherent storytelling. The last part of the book cites the evidence on behalf of the truth of the rumor. Writings on the Beatles, to date, are written through author observations "about" the band from the outside looking in, mostly based on old newspaper clippings. This genuinely interesting story is what went on inside the band as fictional writing. The novel is as credible as other writings on them. The Beatles themselves have declared most of the works written on them as false. The plot seamlessly follows what is known about them during the Beatlemania years.

Not a bad score at all as if you round it off, it’s actually a perfect TEN already. From the looks of that rating, we can say the Audiobook is Good TO READ!

This has to be added to any decent library of books on or about the Beatles. The story seems quite credible but then I know how critical young fans can be about Paul in particular and all the drugs and culture during the 60s. In context of modern day it is quite an odd account of their lives but in the actual context of that day it is as credible as can be. No one really knows what went on the inside the band. There are the studio recordings but they obviously knew they were being taped, the actual conversation had to have gone on outside the studio. But knowing something of the biography of the band, much can be drawn, and this book does a great job of that. What will shock the typical fan are the reasons and reality taken into account on the death of Paul and how this was all taken care of, and covered up by the Official Secrets Act in the UK. Connecting the dots through circumstantial evidence will put you in jail by a court of law, and this book has connected the dots on the death and replacement of Paul. I doubt the rumor of his demise true but it certainly makes a good story. The inside conversations in this story seem quite credible, yet made up in the mind of the author.
